Indonesia has several marble producing areas that are well-known to foreign countries. Marble is one type of rock on earth that can be used by humans for various building purposes. Here are 5 marble producing areas in Indonesia: 1. Tulungagung, East Java Tulungagung is the largest marble producing area in Indonesia. Marble mines in Tulungagung are said to have existed and have been operating since the Dutch colonial period. Marble mining activities in Tulungagung are carried out at Besole Hill, Besole Village, Besuki District, Tulungagung. In that village there is a mining company named PT Industri Marmer Indonesia Tulungagung (IMIT). Marble from Tulungagung is known for its good quality. No wonder every year there is always a demand for marble, both for the construction of houses, schools and other public facilities. Magelang is also one of the marble producing areas in Indonesia. The marble mining location in this area is precisely in Salaman District, Magelang Regency, Central Java. Apart from that, marble mines are also located in Agam Regency, as well as Tampurungo in Sawahlunto Regency. 4. Lampung Just like West Sumatra, marble mining centers in Lampung Province can also be found in several places.
